A writer, a political risk analyst, and an aspiring entrepreneur, Daniel knows firsthand: boozeless business is a bore! Like so many before him, Daniel may have come into wine and spirits "sideways," but growing up in a Russian family and living in France twice helped him absorb a bottle or two of wine and whisky, and the knowledge that came with them. From China to Chile, Daniel has always hunted obscure, rare bottles to add to his collection and experiment with in cocktails. Outside Astor, Daniel is developing a business that bridges the worlds of international development and booze. In addition to his own screenwriting projects, Daniel also works with an NGO that uses storytelling to empower communities around the world to be their own catalysts for sustainable behavior change. Before moving to New York, he managed a team of global security analysts at the World Bank. Although Daniel drinks according to his mood, at gunpoint, pour him a glass of Thomas Handy Rye.
