Hannah Selinger is a copywriter for Astor Wines & Spirits and Astor Center, as well as a sommelier and freelance writer. She also holds the title of Adjunct Assistant Professor at Kingsborough Community College, part of the CUNY system, where she teaches Beverage Management through the school’s Tourism and Hospitality Department. She has worked as a sommelier for BLT Prime, the Momofuku Group, and Nick and Toni’s. Hannah’s writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the South Carolina Review, RawStory.com, Pennsylvania English, Columbia College Today, the Newburyport Daily News, the American Sommelier Society’s textbook on wine, the South Dakota Review, Willow Review, and Lullwater Review. She is a 2002 graduate of Columbia University with a B.A. in English, a 2005 graduate of Emerson College’s Master of Fine Arts program as a Presidential Merit Fellow, and a 2011 graduate of the French Culinary Institute. She received her certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2007. Hannah has competed in six marathons and is a member of the Gotham City Runners, which she finds prevents her from compulsively overindulging in fine wine.
