Karen Weber’s professional passions are art and design. She’s a sucker for lush, floral patterns, clean typography, Japanese minimalism, global street style, and the circus arts. Her variety of interests fuel her to lead productions that bring together food, drink, music, and art. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication at the University of Delaware, Karen built displays for Anthropologie in Glen Mills, PA. In the fall of 2012, she and friend Becca Manning started a creative events company in Delaware called The Table at Brandywine, which hosted curated, food-based events that featured collaborations of chefs, farms, artists, and musicians. In the fall of 2013, Karen married her art school sweetheart, Justin, and the two dove into the New York City creative world. A few weeks after their move, Karen landed a spot on the team at Astor as Art Director. She’s passionate about blending the business’ rich history with current trends, as well as celebrating its welcoming approach to the education of wine and spirits. In her spare time, Karen illustrates patterns, dreams up ideas for fashion films, and helps Justin—a yoyo performer—develop and style his performances.
