If you’re a whiskey lover, odds are that you’ve noticed the buzz surrounding Hudson Whiskeys from Tuthilltown Spirits. What, you may wonder, makes this spirit so unique? First off, this Baby Bourbon is the first whiskey to be distilled in New York State since the Prohibition era. Additionally, it’s made entirely from local corn – a rarity, as the majority of bourbons use less than 80% corn in their distillation. Also, by using unusually small oak barrels for aging, this bourbon takes on more of the charred new-barrel flavor, and has a more rounded style. Finally (and most importantly), everyone is talking about this stuff because it’s simply delicious! Right away, you’ll pick up smooth caramel and orange rind on the nose. These oaky and citrusy flavors are joined by beautiful vanilla and spice on the palate. – TMC
