We asked our staff to pick one bottle that they would like to receive as a gift this holiday season. Watch the video above for their answers or browse their picks below.
André Clouet Champagne Millésimé – 2004
Amazing depth, richness, and elegance that will only be more stunning with age
Ch. Gruaud Larose, St. Julien – 2010
Gruaud speaks of seamless elegance. A proper blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Petit Verdot, this is a wine redolent of exotic spices, tobacco, and concentrated dark fruit. Intense on the palate, with smoky, mineral-laced black currant, and supple tannins, this wine’s balanced acidity provides firm support. There’s great potential here for the cellar.
Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva, Lopez de Heredia – 1994
In an extraordinary vintage, Maria Lopez’s wines only shine more brilliantly. This Gran Reserva has so many years ahead! Perfectly preserved, it offers up a delicate, floral nose and black cherry and wild berries on the palate.
Jean Fillioux Cognac Astor Exclusive – 1991
The 1991 vintage cognac from the Jean Fillioux estate is a rare treasure from one of the last truly independent cognac families. Unearthed from the cellar this is currently the only vintage available from this venerable house. Just about 20 years old, this cognac personifies elegance and upholds tradition. Broad aromas of slightly stewed fruit are layered with citrus honey and cinnamon spice. The palate is layered and seamless with peaches, mirabelle plums, caramel and seasoned oak. This is an extremely special opportunity to experience cognac in its purest form.
Rhum J.M 1994 – 1994
Ladies and Gentlemen: Prepare to have your mind blown upon tasting this spirit. Incredibly complex aromas of marshmallow, espresso, caramel, raw sugar cane and more are found with a finish that won’t quit. Indulge yourself.
