Staff Pick: Matchbook Cabernet Sauvignon – 2010

Weighty yet approachable. Rich but not jammy. And having a lovely soft non-aggressive tannic structure. This Cabernet Sauvignon, balanced with a touch of Russian River Syrah, is a delightful wine that I have enjoyed over and over. At under $15.00 a bottle, this is a superb bargain.

The nose has lovely blackberry fruit, hints of herb, and a whiff of pepper. The palate is elegant: wonderfully soft and smooth with enough tannin and acidity to gently stimulate one’s appetite and to conjure up images of munching on a juicy steak or burger!

I hope you will enjoy drinking this wine and cheers to discovering your new best value-friendly buddy of a Cabernet!
