Rioja is Your Dream Wine

Explore Rioja and Fall in Love

Nestled in northern Spain, Rioja is a dream wine region. Strong tradition mixes with exciting new energy, giving us a range of experiences of the same region and grapes. You may already love it for its excellent Tempranillo, but why not explore all it has to offer? Here are some Rioja recommendations from sales associates Tekla Israelson and Marcarthur Barallo and wine buyer Lorena Ascencios.

Bodega Gregorio Martínez, Rioja Tinto – 2013 $19.96
Not your average Rioja! Instead of Tempranillo or Garnacha, this one is made from 100% Mazuelo. The resulting wine is juicy, fragrant, floral, and bursting with rich red fruit and baking spices. – TI

Viña Gravonia Rioja Blanco, Lopez de Heredia – 2006 $26.99
It’s hard to find a white Rioja for this price that carries the complexity of this Vina Gravonia. Made with 100% Viura and aged four years in barrel, it gives fresh caramel and great nuttiness. Enjoy with jamon. – MB

Bozeto de Exopto Rosé, Rioja – 2016 $14.96
Not all rosés are alike, and this bottle proves it. Older vines give a richness that is extraordinary. This is a rosé to enjoy throughout the warm-weather season. – LA

“Nocedal” Joven Rioja, Bodegas Fuenmayor – 2015 $11.96
Sometimes red Rioja is best enjoyed with a slight chill, especially when the wine is unoaked and it’s spring. Enjoy the magic of 100% Tempranillo, this principal grape. – LA
